Fiber Sorting/Grading/Classing is a process to help fiber producers make improvements and understand the best value of the fiber they produce.
SORTING – The classification of grades and colors within an individual fleece separated into like batches with other fleeces.
GRADING – Classing the entire fleeces into groups according to fineness and length
CLASSING – Similar to grading, but fine tuning the criteria by evaluating the quality of the fiber including uniformity of fineness, style and color.
BENEFITS OF SORTED FIBER

- Uniform Fiber
- Increased wear and durability
- Less waste and increased yield during processing
- Expands uses for all fiber grades
